May God Be Glorified
written at Wednesday, July 8, 2009

As you gradually get introduced into the world and it's many aspects, various places and new opportunities rising all the time, it is all happening so fast and so quickly, maybe there are too many things happening in just a short window of time. You meet various people from various backgrounds, different ambitions and different dreams. As a Christian, it's challenging at times to be in this world but "not be part of it."

You taste the bitterness of the coffee you are drinking while reading today's papers and see how the recession and the various political conflicts around the world are affecting millions and millions of lives around the globe, you know that their bitterness isn't the same as the taste of coffee that you are drinking in the comfort of your own home. As a Christian, it's hard to accept that these are the realities of this world, and it's challenging at times to see that there is a greater hope admidst all the suffering and the struggles.

In summary, it is hard. But does it stop there? Of course it doesn't.

Over dinner, something just snapped into my mind. It was a very simple thought yet I couldn't stop thinking about it, leading me to right this post. We will all meet obstacles and challenges. It is hard yes definitely. But it's time to stop running around in circles and look up. How we stand as Christians here, right now, is only made possible by God's grace. Not by what we have done or what we are going to do.

May God be glorified in our lives and may He give us the strength to do so.
