Panfried Flounder With Risotto
written at Tuesday, July 21, 2009

If you have noticed, the length of my blog posts have shortened significantly. Why? Because I am studying, yes, studying. Please, don't be suprised.

One of the advantages of having afternoon lectures is that you could spend the morning at home and have a good home-cooked meal. We bought some flounder from the supermarket at an amazing price, I believe it cost $10 for 7 flounders. Didn't want to ruin the fresh taste of flounder so we only seasoned it with salt and pepper before bringing it out to the frying pan.

We have an outdoor cooking trolley which we do all our frying on because frying indoors will cause the whole house to smell like oil, and mum wouldn't be happy with that at all. Cooked up some risotto, a lovely accompaniment to the flounder. What an affordable, home-cooked meal!

I'm telling you, if you have the ingredients and some basic knowledge on cooking, you could have so much fun in the kitchen. It's cheaper and more enjoyable to cook at home than it is to eat outside. Although in Singapore, I'm sure most of us would have had the temptation to hit the hawker centre instead of cooking at home.
