Pigging Out

Alright I'm going to be working at the SGX Centre at Raffles Place for the next 2 months, just a vacation job, nothing too much. What I am more delighted by is the fact that my working place is strategically placed in the heart of food paradise! It is relatively near Chinatown, it is near the famous Amoy Street Food Centre and Lau Pah Sat. So far, I have tried the famous Loh Mee, I am not a usual fan of Loh Mee but I am now a convert after savouring this delectable delight which only costs a mere $2.

The fish soup I tried today was amazing, the flavour rippled through my taste buds, every mouthful was an electrifying sensation. It was light and pleasant. The fish was the freshest I have ever tasted, it was sweet and "The Uncle" gave gratuitous amounts. The queue spanned half a complex long. There is one thing to note about famous hawker food: You always go where the crowd is.

My aim during these 2 months is to successfully conquer my way through the various stalls and sample what each vendor have to offer. My next stop will probably be the famous chicken rice from Maxwell and the yam paste topped with ginkgo nuts from Amoy. It is time to be on an adventure.
