Just As You Are

My friend once told me, people won't care how much you know until they know how much you care. And I think I have failed to just be the faithful friend I have been all this while. In the end, I want my friend to say this of me too, who wouldn't want to have a pat on the back and have a nice letter or poem written to him.
Thank You, Friend
Thank you, friend, for all the things
That mean so much to me--
For concern and understanding
You give abundantly.
Thanks for listening with your heart;
For cheering me when I'm blue;
For bringing out the best in me;
And just for being you.
Thanks for in-depth conversation
That stimulates my brain;
For silly times we laugh out loud;
For things I can't explain.
For looking past my flaws and faults;
For all the time you spend;
For all the kind things that you do,
Thank you; thank you, friend.
I want to say that I'm sorry...And just a small message if you read this: We can come just as we are, imperfections, scars, broken-ness and all, because ultimately God wants us, the real us, and that is freeing. He loves you just as you are.

Knowing
What matters supremely, therefore, is not
in the last analysis, the fact that I know God,
but the larger fact which underlies it --
the fact that He knows me.
