The Hottest Chilli

We had a little food outing sometime back which involved extremely hot buffalo wings, which then gave me motivation to do some research on chillies. If you thought chilli padi was a killer, you'll want to stay far away from this little monster. The chilli padi pays homage to the
Naga Jolokia, the world's hottest chilli.
How do you measure the hotness of a chilli though? Well, there is a particular way of measuring it.
The Scoville scale is a measure of the hotness or piquancy of a chilli pepper, as defined by the amount of capsaicin (the chemical which makes you scream and run to the kitchen for a glass of water) present.
The humble chilli padi has a Scoville unit of 50,000-100,000. The Naga Jolokia pepper has a whopping 855,000–1,050,000. Eating this monster will reduce the individual who boasts, "I can take the hottest of chillies." to a crying, red-faced baby who screams for help but cannot get any because milk and bread does not help one bit.
Too bad they do not sell this chilli in Singapore.

What matters supremely, therefore, is not
in the last analysis, the fact that I know God,
but the larger fact which underlies it --
the fact that He knows me.
