On Pieces Of Paper

There is something about music which brings out the words that we cannot usually express, after some quiet contemplation we pen our thoughts on pieces of paper and later we whistle a little tune in our heads and pen them down as well. Viola you have a very simple piece of songwriting.
What is it that makes each song different? What is it that makes each song unique? We all go through different experiences, we see different things, we go through different aspects of life at different stages. That is why songwriting is so interesting.
So when it comes to Christian songwriting in particular, we all have different things to write about. The experiences that we write about may be different, but there is something which makes it so different from the usual top 40 playlist that you hear on the radio. It ain't man-centered anymore, the topics isn't about bitter breakups, lovestruck fantasies or drunken parties on the dance floor. It's centered around Jesus, yes, Jesus.
That is why it's so different, we are all united in the body of Christ, we are united with a common mission, a common purpose, we worship the one true King, the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. All other things seems to pale in comparison to this great story. So let's tell that story! Let's share it with others. And I think a good way to share it, is through songs :)
I might just start songwriting again, I haven't done so for some time.
