1 Peter 2:21-25

So Abigail and myself are going to help facilitate a small group in the East for OCF, we pray that the group will grow closer together in time and establish a sense of accountability and support for one another. It is a very important thing to have in a group. With all of us coming from different backgrounds and situations, we will definitely face many challenges in this world. Many of us will go through various forms of distress or struggles during in our University journeys. Temptations and worldly pleasures are just waiting pull you away.
But that is where Peter encourages us in his letter to those who were undergoing distress in 1 Peter. I think in the essence of it all, the verse below would adequately instruct us how we should conduct ourselves, I think this verse could be further expressed to the small group.
1 Peter 2:21-25For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you,
leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
May our small group follow Him, obedient followers of Jesus Christ, united by His word and in prayer.
