Kingdom And A King
written at Monday, March 29, 2010
Verse 1My heart is beating faster in my chest
As I sing of where my loyalties will rest
To never wait on governments to move
As the broken and the poor cry out for you
ChorusFor the kingdom and the King
For His glory we will sing
For the rescue of our souls He has come
For the kingdom and the cross
For the triumph and the loss
Love has broken through and now redeemed
For the kingdom and the King
Verse 2 O God may we be focused on the least
A people balancing the fasting and the feast
A call to give, to serve and celebrate
For you are great, O my God You are great
Pre-ChorusSo I pledge to know and love You above all
May we be the ends to free them we are called
BridgeOur hope is not in this land not in these laws not in these things
We rest knowing your love has called us to move
Called us to sing to sing..sing
And the people will sing.. sing.. sing..
Oh the people will sing… for the King… for the King…
"To never wait on the governments to move, while the broken and poor cry out for you.." is not a political statement. It’s a Kingdom declaration. The church has been engaged in a missional awakening on so many fronts. I see it everywhere I go. College students and churches around the globe are beginning to take the call of Christ, to serve the least of these, seriously. This has caused me to reconsider the calling God has on my life. All my time, energy, and resources, I use for my plans and dreams. God's kingdom calls us to serve, give, love and pray. My hope is that this song, even in a small way, becomes a catalyst for His Kingdom overriding our own." - Robbie Seay

Knowing
What matters supremely, therefore, is not
in the last analysis, the fact that I know God,
but the larger fact which underlies it --
the fact that He knows me.
